Kaboom!! The new year is here with us. I feel a huge hunger for drawing and designing new things and facing new challenges. I know the challenges will come this year I am 100% sure. Because of my lack of time, last year I forgot to mention some important things. (for those who really watch my blog) An important thing was the launch of the 100 To Watch book. This is like a Young Guns Contemporary Artists – designers, musicians, actors..etc. The book is made by a great team from Bucharest – Its Saturday. I was honored when they select me to be featured in the book along a few others great contemporary designers. The book is not for sale and is only for Exhibition and Cultural Institutes. Because I don’t have a camera I’ll just show you the cover for the moment but if you want you can see more on the website. All the content is available online at www.100towatch.ro

Another boom this year wast the Vienna Design Week, but I already mention that. What I want to mention is that Ovidiu Hrin and me got featured in Die Presse one of the well known local newspaper. We were invited to fill a whole page regarding our experience at the Schaulabor. I that period one of the main topics was “20 Years After” so we though this could be a good idea to represent. So we came up with this 89 points for Victory and 20 for…. I was very pleased with the result and also got a good experience working again along Ovidiu. Hope you’ll get the idea straight.
A lot of other great things happen in 2009 but some of them need time to get life and you will see what I am talking about soon.
So 2009 was a success, 2010 will be better that’s for sure.

I love the concept of the “Missing peace” ! Strong idea
And congrats for the publication ! Seems to be a really cool book, if it is designed in the same mood as the website.
By the way, it’s been a long time since I did not hear much about etcetering.com. Is this project still alive ?
Thanks man. The “Missing Peace” was kinda tricky to execute. None of us knew the technique of doing such a thing with points. Apparently we made it and I am proud of it too. Too bad that the book is not for sale; not for the moment because the guys intend to release an upgraded version that will be for sale on the internet…and I find this a good idea.
Regarding Etcetering, i still got the domain but I find the idea of having another blog design or portal useless. There are so many design blogs and some of them really good. So I prefer to try find some other good idea that suits to the field and do it. Hope you agree with me. I prefer to do something original with it and 3 years ago there were only few design blogs and one of them was Etcetering. Got any idea what we should do with it? I am open to suggestion.
In fact, after some reflexion, it seems that baubauhaus replaced the etcetering project, in a way. It’s not about design, but about inspiration (so more global)- and it’s extremely cool like that. May you keep feeding our eyes for a long time !
So I am right. The speed of the internet and the speed of posting these days are absolutely insane. What’s mainstream now? “Fast visual orgasm” i would say. And this is more related to me i guess. But I got over 45 blogs in my RSS Reader and over 300 new “shit” everyday, but I always check them in less tan 20 minutes because all I need is visual inspiration and “visual orgasm”. Don’t care about words or who did it…fuck that.
Baubauhaus is the new thing now.
ahah you’re so right ! my netvibes is full of rss and I read almost all the new entries each day… Things are turning really crazy with internet, it’s incredible to see how much tons of images we eat each day… Anyway sometimes I think it’s too bad that we don’t know who made the images you published, because there’s a lot of artists/photographs that I’d love to discover more. But it’s only my humble opinion. Baubauhaus is the thing, as you noticed, and it’s really great like that !
