Announcement

Lately…

lately
What I’ve been up to lately? Nothing much I would say, but let me start with Inspired-Inspirers; they featured me this weekend. As I already mention, I find this site really useful and very interesting to see what inspires others. So big up to my friends Diego Quintana.
Lasécu organize this exhibition - Invisible borders; what I need to do was to make a 50X70cm poster with Invisible borders translated to my language and to represent the Invisible borders. The exhibition is conceived as a journey through Eastern Europe, Central and Istanbul. Different worlds, but also complementary artists will strive to work and to manipulate our highlight any similarities or differences.
Netdiver is 10 years old now and Carole invite all artist to join this party and do some postcard and buttons for this event. So I’ve done some design for the launch and now we wait.
Now what I am up to. In the next 2 months I will work on a big project for Phillips Collections and some minor little projects. Finally I will have in my hands a big project that needs to be really well done, and until now I am really pleased with the upcoming results. In the next year Atelier105 will own a nice place where the 4th guys can meet and work together under the same roof. I got a nice plan with this place and hope people will be receptive on my idea when we will open the Atelier doors .

I was traveling these days to Budapest where I meet my friend Wouter De Coster the guy who owns Rock&Roll agency and I want to say that we had a nice meeting there. Then I had a weekend in Sibiu with my girl where we just eat drink and sleep. After that I was to Bucharest where I need to make the final touches for the fashion brand Lu, a big project for me, and also I meet my old friend Popescu Radu, and we have some plans together for the upcoming year. Hope we will succeed.
Then here comes the interesting part. I kinda want to close this blog and keep an journal in a classic way - Moleskine way. My plan is to keep a journal for the next 5 years and then give this journal to the people that appear in the journal and that’s it. So I would love to hear your opinion about this; should I keep this blog and do the journal at the same time or should I keep just one of them.

Some others interesting and nice stuff coming up next year also.

The SUSO Project

Recently Michelle & Harry announced me that they just launch a new online experiment called The SUSO Project – www.susoproject.com for creatives in all industries has launched which aims to bring together creative people with a huge diversity of skills to produce new ideas and projects.
I find this projects really interesting and fresh, as on the internet are a lot of designers with great ideas but no money to invest in their ideas. So I think this is a benefic project to the designers communities.

The SUSO Project will be spotlighting, supporting and exhibiting some of the best ideas on the site. The top 5 (as judged by a panel of creative luminaries) will receive development funding (3x £1,000 grants, 1x £2,000 grant, 1x £10,000 grant) and promotion including features in SUSOLOGY magazine which is distributed with VICE.

The project is just about to get started and is going to unite creatives from all over the world.
Here’s a quick guide to getting started:

1.      Step 1: Submit your profile.
2.      Step 2: Post your idea or browse others.
3.      Step 3: Find collaborators and like minds.
4.      Step 4: Turn your idea into a project or start your own.

Go get the money & spread the word!

Let’s twit it together!

Because I rarely use YM or any other chat client so I choose to register again on twitter on some of your request so I can “chat” with you from anywhere anytime because of the simplicity of this twitter thing.
Here is my twitter page.

*New Suie paparude

suie paparude new

To get these things clear, is true that I’ve design the new suiepaparude website. I worked in our Atelier105 with Eduard for Flash parts and with Imi our incredible front and back developer. I must say this was a long process from sketches to the actually design. Also need to let you know that the site has an administration login where the guys from Suie could post and upload things.
Flash components are made in AS3 with a very cool way to add videos and music, but we will talk about this later in another post. Still not fully pleased with the flash part; because of the rush Edi need to make some compromise “movements” but we will fix this soon because we want to put the player with all the functions to download as an open source, and belive me is really ingenious.
Nothing much to say about front and back end development, just that is really sweet and make me wonder what’s next for us, but just to let you know we have something more excited then this to come.

So we had very good feedback and lot’s of visitors and we earn an huge amount of applause, and we are very pleased with this, thank you all but don’t take it to serious because we’ve just started.

EUROPE BY DESIGNERS

I am really proud to announce you that I am part of the jury on Europe by Designers. It seems to be a nice project made by a team from France - Astrid Rousseau & Julien Grandclement a.k.a. ODBO.

BACKGROUND:
EUROPE BY DESIGNERS is an international artistic project whose aim is to unveil a multitude of images of Europe from the inside and from the outside. Design as the expression of a cultural vision, a political vision or a simple and unopposed feeling… Design and its diversity as a new way to catch Europe.

THEME:
Designers, illustrators, photographers, design studios, collectives/crews, agencies… you are all welcome to submit an innovative, creative, exciting, personal and experimental work around the theme: “Europe : what does Europe mean to you?”. We are expecting diversity and freestyle : all styles of outstanding visual media are welcome. Selected works will be featured online and, hopefully, through future exhibitions and book.

NO ENTRY FEE IS REQUIRED.
DEADLINE: 31ST DECEMBER, 2008.
